WILMA GALA 2010

Friday, May 7th

The evening began at the Wilma with a rousing cocktail hour, an awards presentation emceed by Bob Costas, and a performance by the West Philadelphia Orchestra. Buzz Bissinger was presented with the Artist Award, A.E. "Ted" Wolf the Wilma Star Award, and Mayor Michael Nutter was in attendance to present the Advocate Award to Peggy Amsterdam. The evening concluded with much revelry at the Ormandy Ballroom of the Doubletree Hotel, with dinner, dancing, and a silent auction. Gala proceeds allow The Wilma Theater to continue its mission of producing bold and inventive theater with artists, designers, collaborators and writers of the highest caliber. Our commitment to artistic excellence extends beyond the stage and into our community, and Gala support will also contribute to our campaign to Build the Audiences of Tomorrow, the Wilma’s organization-wide, unified effort to cultivate new audiences by increasing student access to, and encouraging young audience engagement with theater.
