A full stage shot of Every Good Boy Deserves Favor at The Kimmel Center.

David Strathairn, as Ivanov, conducts his imaginary orchestra while Richard Easton (Alexander) looks on.

Projections, created by Jiri Zizka and Ann Patterson, help to create Ivanov's psychotic world.

Polly Holliday, as the teacher, and Dennis Michael Hall, as Sacha, in a school room.

Inside a Soviet psychiatric hospital.

Sacha after visiting his father at the prison.

Dennis Michael Hall's Sacha sings to his desperate father Alexander, played by Richard Easton. Conductor Rossen Milvanov stands between them.

Dennis Michael Hall (Sacha) and Richard Easton (Alexander) share a moment in the cell.

Alexander recalling his friends being prosecuted and sent off to exile.

Dennis Michael Hall as Sacha encouters his father's crazy cell mate, Ivanov, played by David Strathairn.

Ivanov's victory: "I always knew I had an orchestra!"

Richard Easton, as Alexander, visits the Doctor played by Paul Hecht.

Alexander: "Bad old days are over long ago. Russia is a civilized country."

The Colonel flies in from 80 foot high ceiling to resolve all problems.

The Colonel, played by David Howey, flies into an organ and emerges.

David Howey dismisses both of the patients played by David Strathairn (Ivanov) and Richard Easton (Alexander). Paul Hecht (The Doctor) looks on.

The Colonel freed the prisoners and exits victoriously through the audience.

Orchestral coda: babushkas enter to light candles in rememberance of their loved ones.

Projections zoom in on the faceless crowd.

Final image of the stage. Projection of a grainy face, lights and orchestra fade, a sea of candles remains.
